Description
The abscess culture panel is for the detection of bacterial infections of suspect abscesses and includes aerobic culture, anaerobic culture and a Gram stain.
This panel does not include antimicrobial susceptibility testing which is an additional charge per susceptibility.

Collection Container
Exudates/Fluids are preferred in a sterile transport container. If a bacterial transport system is used for submission it must be appropriate for obligate anaerobic organisms.
