Description
The Canine Respiratory Panel Plus screens for a comprehensive range of common viral and bacterial pathogens associated with canine infectious respiratory disease (CIRD), including:
- Bordetella bronchiseptica
- Streptococcus equi subsp. zooepidemicus
- Mycoplasma sp.
- Canine adenovirus type 2
- Canine influenza virus
- Canine parainfluenza virus
- Canine distemper virus, and more.
Tests included in the panel:
- Aerobic culture
- Canine influenza PCR
- Canine parainfluenza-adenovirus2-parainfluenza PCR
PLEASE NOTE: 2 SWABS REQUIRED FOR THIS TEST: culture media swab & NON-agarose swab (saline or viral transport media)
Specimens Required
- 2 Nasal swabs, or other respiratory swabs
- Tracheal or bronchial wash
- 1 g fresh or frozen lung
Sampling Requirements
- TWO swabs are required for this test:
- (1) swab in aerobic transport media
- (2) swab in viral transport media or PBS

Packing Instructions
Label all samples. Store refrigerated. Ship overnight on cold packs in an insulated container.
