Clients must schedule this testing in advance. Call WADDL to schedule testing.
For this test the client submits a cell line (epithelioma papulosum cyprini - EPC) to WADDL to test its susceptibility to infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV). All cell lines submitted will first be screened for Mycoplasma infection; cell lines must be negative for Mycoplasma by WADDL's PCR to be screened for viral susceptibility. WADDL staff will inoculate a confirmed IHNV isolate onto the cells and observe for cytopathic effect (CPE) to confirm that the cell line is susceptible to IHNV.
