Description
This test is for diagnostic cases that have had positive Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) environmental samples from SE monitored breeder flocks under the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) standards. Testing is completed on 1,000 intact eggs at two-week intervals until four consecutive negative tests are achieved as part of the FDA Egg Safety Rule.
A presumptive positive result is confirmed with standard reference methods.

1080 intact shell eggs.
Sampling Requirements
1080 unbroken whole, fresh, non-incubated eggs.

Special Instructions
The laboratory must be contacted prior to submitting samples to make arrangements for delivery and to allow laboratory personnel enough time to prepare for testing.

Eggs are accepted Monday through Wednesday with prior arrangements.
Required Forms to be submitted with Samples: (Testing will not begin until all forms and required information are received by the laboratory).
1. Sampler qualifications (must include each sampler qualification, training and experience).
2. Sampling Plan (must include sampler name and firm, list of factors that are controlled during sampling).
3. Sample Report (must include product code, lot number, size, identity and quantity of samples; sample collection procedures and chain of custody).
