Description
Screening test to detect Salmonella spp. by molecular detection using a Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay.  A presumptive positive result is confirmed by standard reference methods. 
Specimens Required
Minimum 100 grams of egg products.
This protocol is validated for the detection for Salmonella spp. in eggs, raw chicken, raw beef, peanut butter, and cantaloupe by AOAC-Research Institute (certificate #091501).  The laboratory screen method has been approved by FSIS-USDA **MLG 4.0 for analysis and detection of Salmonella spp. for official surveillance of egg products.
