Description
To detect Lactococcus garvieae (syn. Enterococcus seriolicida) and/or Streptococcus iniae in fish kidney samples by aerobic culture.
Specimens Required
Culture medium inoculated with fish kidney.
Sampling Requirements
Insert a sterile loop or swab into the kidney and streak onto CNA (preferably) or blood agar plates. Up to 4 kidney streaks per plate.

Collection Container
Specimens should be collected on agar plates.
Packing Instructions
Place inoculated agar plates (agar side up) in a sealed plastic bag to prevent moisture from contacting the agar. Insulate the bag containing the plates to prevent damage and freezing. Ship chilled in an insulated cooler with ice packs.
