    Detection of antibodies against epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) virus by competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA).
    
        Specimens Required
    
    2 ml serum or plasma preferred, or 3-5 ml clotted blood in tubes without additives such as red top or serum separator tubes, or whole blood in tubes containing heparin or EDTA.

    Serum: Glass or plastic tubes with no additives, e.g., red top tubes, or serum separator tubes.
Plasma: Glass or plastic tubes with anticoagulant, e.g., purple (EDTA) or green (heparin) top tubes.

    Serum or clotted blood may be required if other tests are needed on the same sample.
Samples must arrive at WADDL by noon one business day before the scheduled test day to be included in the next day's run. Samples that miss the deadline will be held until the next scheduled test day.
Excessively hemolyzed samples are not acceptable for testing.
