Description
Detection of antibodies to Brucella abortus, Brucella suis and Brucella melitensis, the causative agents of brucellosis, by card agglutination method.
Specimens Required
2 ml serum or plasma preferred, or 3-5 ml whole or clotted blood.

Serum: Glass or plastic tubes with no additives, e.g., red top tubes, or serum separator tubes.
Plasma: Glass or plastic tubes with anticoagulant, e.g., purple (EDTA) or green (heparin) top tubes.

Special Instructions
Completed and signed official brucella testing form may be required if testing for official purposes.
Samples must arrive at WADDL by noon one business day before the scheduled test day to be included in the next day's run. Samples that miss the deadline will be held until the next scheduled test day.
Excessively hemolyzed samples are not acceptable for testing.
