Description
Avian Influenza AGID test is a basic screening test for antibodies to type A influenza viruses.
Specimens Required
A minimum of 0.5ml of whole blood (containing no additives) or 0.2ml of serum is required for this test.
If the blood cannot be sent to the lab right away, separate the serum. Serum can be kept and submitted refrigerated.
Fresh, non-incubated eggs can be used for this test also. An additional charge is added for egg yolk extraction.
Sampling Requirements
If submitting whole blood, please submit as soon as possible, ideally within a day of collection.
Please submit fresh samples either refrigerated or on ice.

Collection Container
Serum: Glass or plastic tubes with no additives, e.g., red top tubes, or serum separator tubes.
