Description
This test screens for Bothriocephalus acheilognathi (Asian tapeworm) by examination of fish intestinal samples. Most cyprinids are considered potential hosts, excluding goldfish. Infections have also been reported in silurids, poeciliids, percids, centrarchids, gobies, and cyprinodontids.
Specimens Required
Fresh fish carcasses or fish intestines.

Collection Container
Send fresh fish carcasses or fish intestines individually packaged in Whirl-Pak bags or capped test tubes. Label with individual identifiers if necessary.
Packing Instructions
Samples should be packed in an insulated container and chilled.
