Additional samples will have an extra charge of $50.00 each.
Description
Veterinarians at WADDL perform a necropsy on submitted aquatic animals. Initial price is per three animals submitted, with additional test fee for each additional animal.
Specimens Required
Fresh chilled aquatic animal carcasses (fish, amphibians, aquatic reptiles, and aquatic invertebrates) are preferred. Please contact WADDL in advance to schedule submission of live aquatic animals for the Aquatic Necropsy test. Frozen animals can be accepted but clients are recommended to consult with WADDL in advance to determine the likely diagnostic yield of this type of specimen.

Collection Container
Fresh aquatic animal carcasses should be submitted in a leak-proof container and kept well-hydrated (okay to ship in water).
Packing Instructions
Fresh and frozen aquatic animal carcasses should be packed in an insulated container and chilled. Live aquatic animals should be submitted with appropriate water and air, as well as insulation and cooling/heating, to ensure live arrival; note temperatures and weather at shipping and receiving locations when shipping live animals and do not ship during extreme weather. Please ship all samples for Aquatic Necropsy overnight to arrive on a weekday.
